Continuing Education and taking care of one's own soul are vital components of the pastoral life and of the preaching vocation. What some might regard as "time off," preachers recognize as necessary periods of re-filling, of re-inspiration, of re-centering for heart and soul and mind.
No one can undertake the daunting challenge of finding fresh things to say in a sermon each week without regular times of receiving new ideas, new angles, and sometimes of simply being quiet long enough to hear what the Spirit is saying to your heart.
On this portion of the Center's website, we will provide ideas for spiritual retreats and times away that you can arrange for yourself as well as updated lists of larger conferences and seminars designed to reinvigorate pastors in their work.
