Prayers for Discernment
As I Plan
I see them, in their pews.
Bratt's in the front, Cooper's in the back, Sneller's to the right of
me, Mulder's to the left.
In my mind's eye, I see them all.
all the pew-sitters congregants parishioners who slide into the same pews
sermon after sermon, season upon season, year after year.
Children of God
faces.
expectant.
hopeful.
longing.
Keep them in my thoughts as I plan today.
As I dream of sermons, series, goals, vision-let it be for them, not for
me.
Let it be for them.
And let it honor you.
Through Jesus, Lord of my church, I pray. Amen.
